A whole little world, pieced together from soft squares of colour: duck-egg blue, blush pink, sage and sand, with arches, checkerboards and tiny windows tucked between them. Stylised birds wheel across the surface in blues and russets, giving the whole picture a slow, drifting movement.
It has the feel of a town half-remembered, or a tapestry seen in passing. Light, warm and easy to live with.
Watercolour and ink on paper, framed under glass in a silver-gilt moulding with a brown mount, as shown.
